  • CSU, Chico has been a regional college/university during the time that the Geography Department has been in existence (since 1966), with a small master's program since 1970. On a nationwide scale, the geography program at CSU, Chico may not be widely known. The department could be referred to as one of the often under-rated, "overlooked" departments of geography. The productivity of baccalaureate graduates who continue their education to receive a Ph.D. is one indicator that has been used to estimate undergraduate program quality.
