The CSUN Department of Biology housed in the College of Science and Math, offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology; a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology with the following options: Cell and Molecular Biology, Environmental Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology/Medical Technology, and Marine Biology; a Master of Science in Biology; a minor; a Subject Matter Program; and a credential. The Department undertook a self-study (submitted February 1, 2011) followed by an external review on March 12 and 13, 2012. The external reviewers were Dr. John Reiss of Humboldt State University and Dr. Michael Goldman of San Francisco State University. The Department’s MOU meeting occurred on June 6, 2012. Follow-up will occur at one and three years. Their next program review cycle will culminate in a new self-study, external review, and MOU in AY 2016-2017.
