Second changes: A dropout recovery program

The purpose of this graduate project was to examine the needs of students that have dropped out of traditional high school. It is apparent that education beyond high school is critical to economic self-sufficiency in today's knowledge intensive society (Steinberg & Almeida, 2004). A curriculum was developed to serve the needs of students that were attending alternative high school. Various topics were discussed and presented to the students over the course of the school year that focused on how a student in alternative education can graduate and promote to higher education and be a viable asset to society.
