Design and Implementation of a real time music player platform on FPGA

The Project comprised the development of a digital tone generator capable of reading and detecting the notes of music considering all the different possibilities related such as the pitch, an octave of the note and time constraints. The system was implemented on the Zedboard, an advancement board with a Xilinx Zynq System-on-Chip (SoC), a multifunctional system which highlights a dual-core ARM microprocessor and Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) logic. The complete generator can save any given coe file of musical notes in BRAM and producing the tone with exact frequency and time constraints. The output can be listened through speaker. This can be further combined with real time image processing to scan and detect the notes from a book, processes it and play it as an output.
