11th Annual Environmental and Occupational Health Technical Symposium 2016: Health Effects of Chemical Mixtures in Environmental and Occupational Health

People are exposed to numerous chemicals throughout their daily lives. The cumulative effects from these exposures are generally neither well studied nor well known. Toxicological studies have generally focused on the effects of individual chemicals. Epidemiological studies can study multiple chemicals exposures, but the dosimetry is not well understood. This Environmental and Occupational Health Symposium brings together researchers and regulators to address both the current status of mixture research and regulatory policy to evaluate mixture exposures. Topics include the toxicity of chemical mixtures, the evaluation of chemical mixture exposure by EPA and occupational mixture exposures by NIOSH, and the role effect of mixture exposures on carcinogenesis. The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion on the future direction of research and regulatory policies.
