Loose Change Under The Carpet: An Unconscious Collection of Writings

Loose Change Under the Carpet is a 61-page collection of writings that were written with no intention of being read. Over the course of a month, I compiled the recorded text in the Notes app of a MacBook. Some of the writings date back several years and range from sardonic poems to grocery lists to one line non-sequiturs. Although initially influenced by the literary concepts found in Latin Infrarealism, Loose Change is actualized as an art piece and concerned with the theories of 1920s German Surrealism. The writings are integral to my artistic process and document parallels between the conceptual and formal approaches to my practice. It provides a window into my daily research of theoretical concepts, artistic discoveries and unconscious, extratextual expressions within my fluctuating mental framework.
