Development of a Business Plan for a Battery & Jewelry Parts Wholesaler

[ABSTRACT ONLY; NO FULL TEXT] Developing a business plan for a battery and jewelry parts wholesaler gave our team an opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge acquired in the graduate program. The project commenced with the client meeting to identify the client's needs. Our team conducted secondary and primary research on the industry and competitive environment as well as the company's products and customers. Based on the findings, our team developed a business plan and a set of recommendations focused on improving the company's marketing and e-commerce practices. Our team applied analytic tools such as Porter's Five Forces, PESTEL, and SWOT to determine the trends and external influences as well as internal and external strengths and weaknesses of the company and industry. Through the primary research, the team collected data from the company's suppliers/customers and individual consumers. A consumer survey was distributed on platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. In-person and phone interviews were conducted with our client's current suppliers and business customers. This information allowed us to develop a set of specific recommendations. I was part of the team from the start of the project. My contributions included conducting industry research and assisting with formulating the recommendations. I researched and wrote individual sections of the PESTEL and Porter's Five Forces analyses. I also contributed to the competitive analysis of the report. I further contributed to primary research by identifying and interviewing potential business customers. Additionally, I edited all sections of the report and worked with the team to complete each stage of the project. The team recommendations, which were presented to the client, will hopefully help in generating online sales and improving the overall business. Working on the project turned out to be a rewarding experience professionally and personally. The resulting findings and recommendations are proprietary to the client and shall remain confidential.
