Assessing future needs for today's program planning

This project is a series of 80 slides and an audio tape cassette of the narrative for a slide presentation. The narrative is also in printed form. The narrative describes the needs assessment program of the Multi-Handicapped Program at the San Gabriel Valley School in Covina, California. A general meeting of community resource people, parents, and staff was held to brain storm and record all possible needs of the multi-handicapped children for living as adults in the community. Seven priority goal areas were established which could be developed into a "Curriculum of Skills for Living, and assist in the development of needed community resources. The goal areas established are: leisure time; pre-vocational skills; self-help skills; home management skills; health and safety skills; orientation and mobility skills; communication skills; and social and personal skills.
