Proceedings for the 7th Annual Environmental and Occupational Health Technical Symposium 2012: Regulating Environmental Pollutants: Perchlorates and Other Thyroid-Active Chemicals

The technical symposium, Regulating Environmental Pollutants: Perchlorates and other Thyroid-active Chemicals, was developed to address the issue of the increasing exposure of humans in industrialized nations to a class of chemicals called endocrine disruptors. The symposium brought together professionals, academics and policy experts to discuss the health consequences to exposure to thyroid-active chemicals in the environment. Chemicals with effects on the thyroid axis are becoming ubiquitous in urban environments, and they have health impacts at every phase of life, from brain development to the development of chronic diseases later in life.
