The health of every student is a priority for universities, and the Klotz Student Health Center, located at the California State University of Northridge, is the entity responsible for student health affairs. The Klotz is the university's medical clinic which also houses public health educators and coordinators to promote self-care and improvement. Program planning is imperative and requires student connections; because of this necessity, a sundry of student organizations is used to target specific health issues. CSUN contains a population of over 40,000 students. According to the biennial National College Health Assessment, approximately a third of these students will face mental unwellness rendered by stress. These issues result from a mixture of unique student experiences. Some sources to student stress include the following: financial obligations, intrapersonal relationships, and academic obstacles. These ailments incapacitate a student's potential to physical, academic, and mental wellness. To combat and cope with stress, the development of a student intervention health education program is recommended. Using theories such as the theory of planned behavior and social cognitive theory, the goal of helping students develop effective strategies against stress may be accomplished. The health education intervention takes advantage of student technology, smartphone applications, to track their development throughout the intervention This health program with student technology will be used to apply theoretically sound methods to help students manage symptoms of stress, behaviors to reduce its engendering, and knowledge of it.
