Approaching families with early observations and screenings for Autism Spectrum Disorder, A Guide for early childhood educators

Communication with families is a critical part of early childhood education. However, expressing educators' concerns about a child's development can be prickly or even counterproductive. Conversations about behaviors that are associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder may be particularly challenging. It is the purpose of this thesis to develop and describe a teacher-parent communication guide for early childhood education professionals regarding communication with families about child behavior observations and screenings with a focus on the Autism Spectrum Disorder.
