Ongoing musical journey

Abstract

A descriptive and in-depth look into the works performed on Sarah Lonsert's graduate recital. Composers include; Handel, Faure, Hahn, Duparc, Gounod, Strauss, Donizetti, Zeira, Maseng, Skloff, Copland, Gordon, Rorem, Beach, Coleman, Simon, Webber, and Strauss II. While many of the selections may seem random, all the selections reflect my own personal growth as a musician throughout my college career. Having started out not even knowing how to read music, I wanted to share the many pieces I have fallen in love with over the years of this musical journey. Throughout this program, I hope to have shared a little bit of my passion for the great art that is music. I have only shared a small sliver of the music I have grown to love, and I hope that you will grow to love its beauty and complexity as well. I am excited to continue down the journey music has laid before me. The journey will never end now that it has begun.
