This thesis investigates leveraging mHealth technologies to research the monitoring of high complexity and delicate organs using cost effective, feasible mobile applications. The eye health monitoring has assumed clinically intensive monitoring approaches. This work is the first to view the challenge with a mobile lens. A prototype eye health monitoring system, called the 2C Vision Test, is presented along with user interface considerations to enable the pervasive and ubiquitous monitoring outside the clinical setting. The implementation details are outlined and the efficacy and accuracy of the 2C Vision Test application is evaluated.
