dc.description.abstract	The theme of this year’s faculty retreat stems directly from a new vision for Cal State Northridge that I presented in the 2007 convocation address. That vision—Cal State Northridge as a regionally focused and nationally recognized university—is based on past and current characteristics of the university, but sets an aspiration for changing the university’s reputation nationally.	en
