Finding the most suitable location for a new college/university in los angeles county

If a new location of an educational site were to be established in Los Angeles County, where would be the best location?. The selection of a new location is challenging and may be met using Geographical Information Science (GIS) and Network Analysis.. This thesis is an attempt to verify how well, modern geo-informatics techniques, such as network analysis, would be in figuring out the best location for a new university in Los Angeles County. To find the most suitable site for a new educational place in the county is not merely a question of choosing sites, it also involves the comparison and allocation of the spatial characteristics of potential candidates to meet the demands of a particular age group while fulfilling the overall goals of the variables in the process. Using GIS-based Network Analysis, Location-allocation, and Service Area Analysis techniques for the selection process of the new university site this study suggests with a viable location in the region. Existing universities’ data, land use data, Digital Elevation Model (DEM), census tracts, parcel data, and roads networks were employed in the analysis to reach the final-selection
