12th Annual Environmental and Occupational Health Technical Symposium 2017: Community Exposures to Environmental Hazards

On behalf of the Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) alumni, faculty, and students of California State University, Northridge, and our sponsors, we welcome you to our 12th Annual EOH Technical Symposium. We hope that you will find today's program to be of great value. This year's Environmental and Occupational Health Symposium will address the issue of community exposure to environmental hazards from the perspectives of public health, public policy and environmental justice. Industrial activities near residential areas have created the risk of community exposures to chemical or physical hazards. Past exposure incidents have generated enough public concern to warrant the creation of Federal and State agencies charged with developing policies to minimize or eliminate these risks. Our symposium brings together industry professionals as well as policy experts to discuss the impact of exposure to environmental hazards due to industrial facilities operating near residential communities as well as policies being developed to reduce these exposures. The stellar line-up of guest speakers promises to be an interesting and informative day. Proceeds from today's symposium are used to promote student educational events and the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health. For those of you in attendance that are CSUN alums and have not joined the CSUN Alumni Association, we urge you to join the alumni association by signing up at the registration table. Part of your membership fees comes back to the EOH Alumni Association. We hope you enjoy today's symposium and will join us for future events.
