dc.description.abstract The Physical Therapy department (Doctorate) 2016-17 annual assessment report to the College of Health and Human Development for the Office of Academic Assessment and Program Review. The department directly assessed program SLO 4 (Integrate best scientific evidence, client-specific needs, and healthcare system values to provide quality therapy services meeting the healthcare needs of patient/clients and society) via embedded test questions in PT 75 and PT 752A courses. More than 75% of students met expectations for this SLO (detailed results included in the report). In addition, an evaluation of student ability to perform research was conducted, with results showing that students were able to satisfy all the relevant criteria (detailed results included in the report). An assessment of student ability to apply their Evidence-Based Physical Therapy skills in clinical practice was also conducted, with the result that students overall met the benchmarks set by the American Physical Therapy Association’s Clinical Performance Instrument (detailed results included in the report). Plans for 2017-18 “tentatively” include as assessment of the results of changes made in Patient Management I & II. en_US
