Ecosystems of California

California is an enormous state, as large as France or Japan, with a bewildering array of natural and anthropogenic ecosystems, many of which are under threat. Attempting to summarize all of the history, patterns, processes, and future impacts in a single volume would seem an impossibility. Yet Ecosystems of California has done just that.
