The Economics department 2018-19 annual assessment report to the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics for the Office of Academic Assessment and Program Review. The department closed the loop on results from its two-year assessment cycle by implementing curricular changes in response to student learning deficiencies demonstrated with respect to PSLO #5 (Understand key macroeconomic variables and how fiscal and monetary policies affect them). ECON 312, a new intermediate course in Macroeconomic Theory, was added to the curriculum, and ECON 403 was substituted for ECON 401. In addition, ECON 421 was substituted for ECON 320 to create a 400-level course in Labor Economics. Plans for 2019-20 are to begin a new two-year assessment cycle in accordance with its accreditor's requirements.
